What is a Creative Commons License?
All articles in this journal are published under the Creative Commons "Attribution" (CC BY 4.0) license. You may read the text of the license here, and general principles of the Creative Commons licenses here.
The CC BY license stipulates that the authors keep their copyright for the published paper, without transferring the copyright to the journal as usually happens. At the same time, the article may be freely copied and distributed by the readers, but only if the original publication is properly cited. Text or figures can also be freely used in books, textbooks or educational slides if the same obligatory condition of proper citation of the original publication is met. The CC BY license cannot be withdrawn.
All papers that are published by such renowned journals as PLOS ONE and Frontiers are licensed under CC BY licenses.
